Independent AI drone as a guard of standing building

The concept is to design an intelligent autonomous drone who performed the tasks associated with building a defense against potential intruders. DARPA said it has “long been a leading force in developing and operating military autonomous systems. Our autonomous unmanned drones (UAVs) are among the most advanced and safest in the world, and the technology enables advanced, cost-effective mission-operating capabilities for our armed forces, air forces, maritime combat aircrews, and ground vehicles. Our unmanned unmanned systems are also capable of performing complex mission operations with a minimum of human intervention, such as when responding to natural disasters.”

DARPA said the technology has the potential to be “useful in providing more accurate targeting and engagement with hostile or potentially dangerous targets, while providing a greater range of capability to support operations to mitigate potential military or civilian incidents and maximize operational safety and efficiency.”

The agency said the unmanned drone developed at DARPA would be an “extensive research tool that is designed to be used to achieve multiple strategic objectives, and it is expected to advance our understanding of the complex world of UAVs.”
